Governor Sani appoints 19 new permanent secretaries
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has approved the appointment of 19 new permanent secretaries and retained seven of the existing ones.
Muhammad Lawal Shehu, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, in a statement on Tuesday, named the new permanent secretaries and their ministries as follows:
1. Mukhtar Abdullahi – Ministry of Sports Development
2. Dorcas Inti Benjamin Iliya – Ministry of Human Services & Social Development
3. Jummai C. Bako – Establishment, Office of the Head of Service
Jummai A. Danazumi Esq. – Solicitor-General (SG), Ministry of Justice
4. Rabiu Yunusa – Ministry of Housing & Urban Development
5. Ibrahim Sanusi – Local Government Service Board
6. Mansur Salanke, Esq. – General Services (GS), Office of the Secretary to the State Government
7. Aishatu Abubakar Sadiq – Ministry of Health
8. Abdu Na Abdu Ashiru – Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure
9. Shehu Usman Salihu – Civil Service Commission
10. Habib A. Lawal – Ministry of Finance
11. Suwaiba Shehu Ibrahim – Teachers Service Board
12. Dr. Mahmud Lawal – Ministry for Local Government Affairs
13. Linda Asabat Yakubu – Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources
14. Ramatu MB Tukur – Kaduna Capital Territory (KCT)
15. Mohammed Hayatuddeen – Zaria Metropolitan Authority (ZMA)
16. Augustine Godwin Alex – Kafanchan Municipal Authority (KMA)
17. Felicia Indoka Makama – Governor’s Office
18. Al-Amin Murtala Dabo – Governor’s Office
The seven retained permanent secretaries and their ministries of deployment are as follows:
1. Nuhu Isiyaku Buzun – Cabinet and Political Affairs (CPA), Office of the Secretary to the State Government
2. Dr. Haliru Musa Soba – Ministry of Education
3. Dr. Yusuf Saleh – Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology
4. Abubakar Abba Umar – Ministry of Agriculture
5. Nasiru A. Banki – Public Service Office (PSO), Office of the Head of Service
6. Kabiru M. Mainasibi – Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs

Transfer: Pochettino explains decision to bring back Chelsea midfielder
Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino, has explained his side’s decision to bring back midfielder Andrey Santos from his loan at Nottingham Forest.
Recall that Chelsea had earlier this week recalled Santos from Nottingham Forest.
Speaking on the development at his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup third round clash with Preston on Saturday, Pochettino insisted that the Blues the Brazilian back to Stamford Bridge because he wasn’t involved in the squads at Forest.
“We decided to bring André Santos back because he was not involved in the squads at Nottingham Forest. He was not involved every week,” Pochettino said.
“It is good for him to come back, assess him and take the best decision for him and the team. We will see”.

Man, 43, arrested for allegedly stabbing wife to dead while asleep
A 43-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his sleeping wife to death in Damaturu, Yobe State.
This was disclosed in an incident report shared with newsmen by the Police Public Relations Officer, Yobe State Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim.
“On 4/1/2024 at about 0448 hrs, a distress call was received by ‘C’ Divisional Police Headquarters, Damaturu, that one Abubakar Musa, ‘M’ 43yrs of New Housing Estate, Bye-pass, Maiduguri Road, Damaturu, while sleeping on the same bed, with his wife, Ammi Adamu Mamman, ‘F’ 42yrs, she was stabbed with an object on her neck, causing a deep cut which resulted in heavy bleeding and led to her death.
“The husband was arrested for interrogation”, the report read.
According to the incident report, findings revealed that both the victim and the suspect are staff of Yobe State University, (YSU), Damaturu.
He added that investigation had commenced immediately by the homicide unit of the State CID.
The State Command, however, urged community members to cooperate with the police by giving credible information concerning the incident so that justice be served and deter future occurrence.
